How to get there?
Gilgit Baltistan has been home to many travelers of ancient silk route from China, Europe, Central Asia, India, and Arabia. A place of refuge for many warriors of ancient times and haven to the nature explorers. In ancient times the Silk route was the only way to get there and it took several months for the travelers to Gilgit-Baltistan from china or from Europe and Arab countries.
After the development of Karakorum Highway, road travel has been the most common way to reach Gilgit-Baltistan. Currently, some Pakistani airline companies are also providing their services for the travelers to Gilgit city and Skardu.  Below is a brief description for the travelers who can reach Gilgit Baltistan by road or by air.

By Air: Pakistan International Airline is operating its flights from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu. 

By Road: there are a number of private and government owned companies that are provided by road travel service from Karachi to Gilgit and Islamabad/Rawalpindi to Gilgit, Skardu, and Hunza. There are many privately owned Rent a car company in Rawalpindi. From where travelers can hire a car to reach Gilgit-Baltistan who don’t want to travel in a bus. The names of some travel agencies providing bus service to Gilgit-Baltistan are as follows.

NATCO: NATCO is a government owned company that provides both bus and jeep services for travelers from Karachi to Islamabad/Rawalpindi to Gilgit and Skardu, Hunza and many other places.

Silk Route: Silk route is one of the main bus and Van service providers to Gilgit-Baltistan.

Gilgit Baltistan Travels: it is also one of the well-known bus and other vehicle service provider to Gilgit-Baltistan from Rawalpindi/Islamabad.
The Karakorum travels: It also operates from Rawalpindi to Gilgit Baltistan’s many regions.

Others: there are several companies that provide bus, van, and car services for the travelers from around the world.

From China to Hunza: Travelers who wish to visit Gilgit Baltistan via china they can travel through the Karakorum highway from china to Upper Hunza and visit all the places of Gilgit-Baltistan.This is considered to be the safest route to reach GB
